A Trump-branded hotel is moving into a new location in New Jersey after a city that has voted for Democrats has endorsed Trump.
The hotel, which will open in the Jersey Shore town of East Brunswick in 2019, will be the latest project by the billionaire developer to open in a state that has backed Trump since the election.
“The Trump brand is a very strong presence in New England, and I’m thrilled to welcome the brand to New Jersey,” said Mark Reuss, president and CEO of the Trump Organization.
“It is a great fit for the new Jersey Shore as well as our commitment to New York, which is the second-largest city in the United States.
Trump is proud to have a presence here and he will continue to do business in the region.”
Trump owns a number of properties in the New Jersey area.
The Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, is slated to open this summer and is the first of the three properties to open there.
The company has leased about 1,000 rooms and apartments there.
The Trump Organization has operated two Trump-owned hotels in the state.
One, the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, closed in March 2019 and is being replaced by a Trump International Hotel and Tower in nearby Jersey City.
The second, the Hotel Commodore in Trenton, is being converted into a Trump World Tower.
